Türkiye National Internship Program

In order to ensure that our youth benefit from internship opportunities offered by public institutions and private sector organizations within the framework of equal opportunity and based on merit principles, the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Human Resources Office has launched the National Internship Program (NIP). Through this program, it is aimed to increase the employability of young people using a transparent, traceable, and innovative evaluation system, to support equal access to career opportunities, and to expand internship opportunities beyond only technical fields that require mandatory internships, making them accessible to students from all disciplines. Students who apply to the program are evaluated based on their academic/professional, artistic/social, and athletic competencies, taking into account their overall performance during their education, efforts to improve their skills, and achievements. Employers, on the other hand, send internship offers based on these competency scores without accessing the students` personal identity information. In addition to its national success, the program has also gained international recognition and has been highlighted twice by the OECD as a model practice for member countries. The National Internship Program offers many young people at the beginning of their professional careers the opportunity to gain experience in working life and to shape their career path while still being students.
